Sophie Cavanagh - Executive Director of Kingston Educational Trust 

Sophie is an exemplary leader with a deep understanding of what it takes to deliver sustained school improvement. With over 30 years of experience driving exceptional school performance and she brings a rare depth of insight and credibility to her work.

She has been an Ofsted inspector for over 15 years, for many years in the role of lead inspector across both primary and secondary settings.  She also undertook a term's secondment to HMI on a full time basis, enabling her to gain valuable experience at a high level.

She holds both the National Professional Qualification for Headship and the National Professional Qualification for Executive Leadership.

Sophie is relentless in her commitment to supporting schools—whether maintained schools or part of other multi-academy trusts—that are determined to unlock their pupils’ full potential. Her leadership is grounded in high expectations, practical expertise, and a passion for ensuring every child receives the quality of education they deserve.
